Ger and Ciara Gleeson
If you possibly missed Ciara Gleeson around the clinic recently, there was an extremely good reason — Ciara and her father Ger were away in November volunteering with Mellon Educate, helping to build schools in Cape Town, South Africa.
Founded in 2002, Mellon Educate is an international education charity that has transformed the lives of thousands of children and families in South African townships by building schools, launching literacy programmes and creating local jobs.
Each year, the charity’s renowned Building Blitz brings volunteers from Ireland and beyond to deliver safe, modern school infrastructure in underserved communities. To date the charity has built / renovated 36 schools, improving education for over 65,000 children.
In advance of their departure, Ciara and Ger raised over €10,000 to fund building materials — a tremendous achievement which has already improved children’s access to education. Their hands-on work on-site and the commitment they showed throughout the trip reflect the same dedication and care Ciara brings to her role at Gold Standard Physio. It was a privilege to help Ciara out in some small way, and we’re so glad to have her on our team.

Thank you so much.
